The Holiday Light Tour Is Back!!!
After a challenging 2020, we know our guests can't wait to celebrate the holidays with their families by their side. Since the tour began as a one time fundraiser in 2016, you've helped it grow into a memorable family tradition. Our small family business has been able to entertain thousands of guests, contribute upwards of $25,000 to local charities, and provide high paying seasonal work to countless local musicians, drivers, managers and guides...all thanks to you! Come be a part of the holiday magic in 2021. A $500 deposit will reserve a private trolley for up to 32 of your friends and family members. (Total pricing varies depending on the day of the week.) We can't wait to provide the fun and festive experience that our guests have come to expect and we plan on making the 2021 Holiday Light Tour our best yet! From the entire staff here at Founding Footsteps, we can't wait to welcome you aboard our Holly Jolly Trolley!

Holiday Lights FAQs

Is there a minimum amount of guests for a Private Tour?
No. By booking a private tour you reserve the entire trolley at a flat rate and you can bring a maximum of 32 guests.

Keep in mind capacity is subject to change due to Covid mandates.
Where does it begin and how long is the tour?
The tour is approximately 2 hours long and will start and end at the same location – Iron Hill Brewery (1150 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19107).
Where can I park?
While there are several garages in the area, we are working on the best deal possible for the preferred garage once we receive that information. There’s also the possibility of street parking.
Are masks or proof of vaccine required?
Since we operate both walking and open-air trolley tours, Founding Footsteps is considered an outdoor operation. As such, masks are not required, but they are highly encouraged. However, this is subject to change, we are following the city’s most up-to-date COVID safety mandates.
Can I BYOB? What about snacks?
Yes! The tour is BYOB but we request that you limit this to beer and wine. You can absolutely bring snacks, we just ask that you clean up afterwards.
What will I see on the tour?
Smedley Street and Miracle on 13th Street – two south Philly neighborhoods that invest their own time and money each year to create elaborate displays and spread holiday cheer. We’ll drive through center city and see the iconic trees by City Hall and the Rocky Stairs.
Will there be a bathroom stop?
We’re currently working on a COVID friendly way to include a restroom stop during the tour. Public restrooms will be available at our starting and ending location.
Will the trolley wait for me if I’m running late?
No. The trolley must leave at its scheduled departure time. We suggest arriving at the starting location at least 15 minutes prior to your departure time as we’ll begin loading the trolley BEFORE the departure time. Having to search for parking and dealing with traffic are facts of city life and requests to hold the trolley for these reasons will not be accepted. Please plan accordingly.
