Talented musicians will play holiday music as we travel to some of the most festive locations in the city. Singing along is highly encouraged! Don’t be shy about belting out your favorite holiday tunes!!!
The Holiday Light Tour in December of 2018 and 2019 was nothing short of epic for our company. Our phones rang nonstop and our email inboxes filled up faster than we could respond. Over the past two years we’ve run over 400 Holiday Light Tours, entertained thousands of guests and in 2019 alone we were able to donate upwards of $25,000 to charity. After a challenging 2020, we are confident that this holiday season we can provide the fun and festive experience our guests have come to expect while still being safe. From the entire staff at Founding Footsteps, we’re excited to have you aboard our 2021 Holly Jolly Trolley!
Holiday Lights FAQs
Where does it begin and how long is the tour?
The tour is approximately 2 hours long and will start and end at the same location – Iron Hill Brewery (1150 Market St, Philadelphia, PA 19107).
Where can I park?
While there are several garages in the area, we are working on the best deal possible for the preferred garage once we receive that information. There’s also the possibility of street parking.
Are masks or proof of vaccine required?
Since we operate both walking and open-air trolley tours, Founding Footsteps is considered an outdoor operation. As such, masks are not required, but they are highly encouraged. At this time, and in accordance with COVID safety guidelines outlined by the city of Philadelphia, proof of vaccination is not required to take a trolley tour. However, in order to best accommodate all of our guests’ needs, we will offer a variety of vaccine-required tour times. These tours will be visible when making your selection in our booking system. Proof of vaccine will be required when boarding for these specific tours. All other tour slots will operate based on the city’s most up-to-date COVID safety guidelines.
Can I BYOB? What about snacks?
Yes! The tour is BYOB but we request that you limit this to beer and wine. You can absolutely bring snacks, we just ask that you clean up afterwards.
What will I see on the tour?
Smedley Street and Miracle on 13th Street – two south Philly neighborhoods that invest their own time and money each year to create elaborate displays and spread holiday cheer. We’ll drive through center city and see the iconic trees by City Hall and the Rocky Stairs.
Will there be a bathroom stop?
We’re currently working on a COVID friendly way to include a restroom stop during the tour. Public restrooms will be available at our starting and ending location.
Will the trolley wait for me if I’m running late?
No. The trolley must leave at its scheduled departure time. We suggest arriving at the starting location at least 15 minutes prior to your departure time as we’ll begin loading the trolley BEFORE the departure time. Having to search for parking and dealing with traffic are facts of city life and requests to hold the trolley for these reasons will not be accepted. Please plan accordingly.
